Steele Consulting Group LLC provides consulting, application and development services for Colorado tax credit applications, including debt structuring and soft source funding. Steele Consulting Group is headed by Ron Lafollette, a thirteen year veteran and former director of the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) Tax Credit Program. Ron is joined by Liz Smith, a former CHFA multi-family underwriter. Steele Consulting Group also relies on the strategic input of Chad Asarch, Hud Karshmer, and Stuart Heller, recognized industry leaders in the tax credit field.

Steele Consulting Group provides comprehensive consulting services to take your affordable project from concept to closing. Our services include:

• Colorado tax credit application development
• Assessment of project feasibility including financial structure, development budgets, and operating pro-formas
• Selection of tax credit equity investors and permanent and construction financing providers
• Preparation of legal review and project closing documents

Experience
Ron Lafollette comes to Steele with extensive experience in the tax credit industry as a nationally recognized expert in the field. Prior to joining Steele in 2008, Lafollette managed the CHFA Tax Credit Allocation Team and played an integral role in creating the Colorado tax credit allocation process. Ron Lafollette has unrivaled knowledge of the Colorado tax credit process. Further, Lafollette has spoken at several national affordable housing forums, has been active in the national trade organization, NCSHA, and has worked with tax credit equity investors and syndicators throughout the country.

Liz Smith joined Steele Properties in 2006. Prior to joining Steele, Smith worked for Colorado Housing Finance Authority (CHFA) as a multi-family underwriter and for the Colorado Division of Housing where she spent two years as an asset manager and two years as Housing Development Specialist and Private Activity Bond Manager. She is a member of both the Rocky Mountain chapter of the Affordable Housing Management Agency and Housing Colorado, a local non-profit.
